UK Credit

I worked at UK Credit for over two years, and in that time, as the sole Digital Designer in the marketing department, completely redesigned and redeveloped the entire site, the entire customer journey application process and dashboard, direct marketing campaign materials, email marketing suite and banner marketing assets. Here are some of the designs for the site. I soley took the customer journey application redesign and development from hand-drawn ideas, to low fidelity wireframes (with detailed signposting to indicate site function which couldn’t be visualised) to Photoshop mockups, static HTML in my own dev environment, integration with the web developers integration environment, through to test, user acceptance and then finally published to the live environment. Being a small company with and even smaller dev team, I was working alongside several departments simultaneously for over a year on this project. Anglian Home Improvements Visualiser Tool

This tool was commissioned to give users of the website an opportunity to ‘play’ with the website, and try out combinations of colours, designs and home types, until they were hopefully tempted to click the ‘get quote’ button. In addition, there is a print button, where users could print out a copy to hand to perhaps less technically minded family members. This sneakily puts in some additional sales text to continue to press the need to get in touch with the business. The tool was built purely with HTML, CSS and JS, all coded by myself. Try it out!

Cloud Freebies

This lead generation site, arguably the first UK freebie site to be 100% responsive across all current web enabled devices, is another WordPress build. A common theme I noticed with many responsive web sites is that they’re still very simplistic even in the full desktop version – for a site of this size, this attitude towards design was not an option. Complete with customisations to the content editor to aid with the addition of new freebie items on a regular basis, it is the most ambitious responsive web design I have completed. It has an extremely complex set of CSS classes and media queries modifications to the Gumby responsive framework I used to begin the site build. The maximum amount of columns for one ‘row’ of the site is a maximum of 128, all of which gracefully scale down depending on the user’s device. In addition to the site, I designed and coded Facebook App iframe and email campaign landing pages to work alongside a MailChimp driven email campaign to encourage users to like the site. The B2B client needed a complete brand ready to be handed over to a design and management team to grow following my involvement. I designed the website, the cartoon mascots and the branding alone. The characters were taken from quick hand sketched, through to Photoshop and then to Illustrator, to create vector graphics for use on future direct marketing, vinyl and so on. And as standard, the site was coded to be completely responsive.
